هدفت الدراسة الحالية إلى نمذجة العلاقة السببية بين النّميمة السيبرانيّة والكفاءة الاجتماعيّة العاطفيّة الإلكترونيّة والسّمات الشخصيّة الخمس الكبرى لدى عينة من طلبة جامعة اليرموك بلغت (920) طالبًا وطالبة، تم اختيارهم بالطريقة المتيسرة للعام الدراسي 2024/2025. ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة، استُخدمت مقاييس علمية لكل من السمات الشخصية، والكفاءة الاجتماعية العاطفية، والنميمة السيبرانية. أظهرت النتائج أن سمتي (الانبساطية والمقبولية) فسرتا ما نسبته 18.70% من التباين في الكفاءة الاجتماعية العاطفية الإلكترونية، بينما فسرت السمات الشخصية (الانبساطية، والعصابية، والمقبولية) مجتمعة مع الكفاءة الاجتماعية ما نسبته 12.90% من التباين في النميمة السيبرانية. كما بينت النتائج وجود أثر مباشر موجب لكل من الانبساطية والمقبولية في الكفاءة الاجتماعية العاطفية، وأثر مباشر سالب لهما في النميمة السيبرانية، في حين كان للعصابية أثر مباشر موجب في النميمة السيبرانية، وظهر أثر وسيطي جزئي سالب للكفاءة الاجتماعية في العلاقة بين سمتي (الانبساطية والمقبولية) والنميمة السيبرانية. وبناءً على ذلك، أوصت الباحثة بضرورة دمج الكفاءات الاجتماعية والعاطفية ضمن المناهج والأنشطة الجامعية، وتعزيز دور الإرشاد الطلابي لدعم التكيف الانفعالي، وعقد ندوات توعوية مكثفة تستهدف الطلبة خاصة من ذوي سمة العصابية للحد من ممارسات النميمة السيبرانية.
